Shop for overstocked, discontinued, new and used building materials, appliances and gently used home furnishings.
Property managers and real estate brokers buying and selling “fixer-uppers”, do-it-yourselfers making home improvements and small contractors doing rehab work are among those who can benefit from the ReStore. Prices are low, there is a large selection, the products are immediately available and there is a constant turnover of items. The ReStore is a source for individuals remodeling their homes to donate items they are replacing. Homebuilders have a resource to donate perfectly good building materials rather than disposing in local landfills and be environmentally responsible. Retailers having discontinued items or returns can donate to the ReStore and assist a local charity.
Items can be dropped off at the ReStore during business hours or arrangements can be made for a pick-up. For more information about the ReStore, call (219) 923-7265.
The ReStore opened in March 2005 at 6114 W. Ridge Road in Gary and will help to make future building projects possible. There are currently 360 Habitat ReStores throughout the United States. A Habitat ReStore is a retail outlet recycling overstocked, discontinued, new and used building materials, appliances and gently used home furnishings donated by manufacturers, store contractors and individuals. These donated items are sold at a fraction of normal prices to the public. All revenue from sales goes to support our building program.
